Bubble Gum Fury Disclaimer: This story takes characters from Bubblegum Crisis and Fatal Fury. No money is being made off of this and suing me wouldn't make any sense. I was inspired to try this out after watching the entire Bubble Gum Crisis OAV series. This is another fanfiction that doesn't use the Ranma 1/2 series. In an age of scientific wonders, the human body is still the world's most dangerous machine. TM Note: This story takes place after the OAV series and Fatal Fury: the Motion Picture. Chapter 1 Lone Wolf in MegaTokyo MegaTokyo 2033... CEO Quincy nodded as he watched from the privacy of his office as his scientists put Genom's latest project through its first tests. The corporation had put in a lot of its resources and the project had taken more than a year to create its first prototype. With the OMS project temporarily put on hold, due to the interference of the mercenary group, the Knight Sabers, the head of the Genom was now watching with anticipation as the newest Boomer was put through its paces. Unlike the previous models, the new Boomer utilized a radical energy generator that actually drew power from an extradimensional source. With this power plant, this Boomer had virtually unlimited range and now sported a new type of transportation device. With its dimensional hole generator, it could actually slide through subspace, literally travelling through another dimension and reappear an equivalent distance into real space. This form of teleportation had many applications in shipping, espionage and especially, combat scenarios. It might also be just the thing to eliminate those nuisances, the Knight Sabers. The new Boomer was modeled after BU-55C Combat Boomer, but also sported a pair of mini-gatling guns in each forearm, as well as retractable rocket launchers in the shoulders. Like its predecessors, the XR-4000 was able to compress itself and take on a humanoid appearance, but had to expand to its full height of 7'8" to make full use of its weapons and thrusters. However, its teleportation abilities were available in either mode. After watching the Boomer demonstrate its awesome potential, Quincy smiled evilly. During the test, the Boomer used its dimension-jumping power to easily outflank a pair of BU-55C Boomers, reappearing behind them and smashing in their heads. Then as a group of Doberman Boomers attacked, the XR-4000 engaged its gatling guns and blew two away, then teleported to avoid a withering laser barrage. Before the Dobermans could react, the new Boomer reappeared on one side and sent a trio of rockets at them, obliterating the Boomers on the spot. Several more makes and models of Genom's top combat Boomers were sent against it, and every one of them was dispatched in an efficient manner. In less than five minutes, the testing area was littered with smoking hulks. The XR-4000 stood alone amid the wreckage, awaiting new orders. "Excellent!" Quincy said as the new Boomer stood down from combat readiness. "The new Boomer has exceeded all of our expectations! When can we be ready be ready for mass production of the AR-4000?" One of the scientists replied. "Once we get the feedback data processed and the additional tests done, we can begin production in about two months. Of course, we still have to create a better energy filter, but that's a minor obstacle." "Good. And how do you think it will be able to stand up against other opponents, say the Knight Sabers?" "Unlike the Knight Sabers, who are only human, this model of Boomer has a virtually unlimited power supply and can outmaneuver any opponent, due to its teleportation system." The scientist gestured to the new Boomer. "Its only drawback is the high amounts of quantum field energy it builds up with continuous usage of the system. Right now, it's still dispersing all the quantum energy it built up fighting those other Boomers. If it tries to disperse all that energy too fast, it might cause an implosion. Once we reconfigure the energy filters to handle the higher output, we'll be able to start mass production soon afterwards." It was then that the machine started to give off sparks and tremble as it stood. "What's going on?" Quincy asked. The scientists all looked back at their creation and gasped as they saw the AR-4000 give off more sparks and begin to have spasms. The lab man who had spoken to Quincy rushed over to a console and began to frantically push buttons. His expression became pale as he saw the readouts. "Oh no! The quantum fields that the AR-4000 built up were higher than expected! It's too much for its energy filters to handle! It's going to implode!" Quincy was about to give the order to shut down the Boomer's system when the machine suddenly glowed with an eerie light and then began forming an unstable rip in the space-time continuum. Then it vanished. Another Earth, somewhere in America, 1994… Terry Bogard sighed as he rode his motorcycle down the desert highway in Nevada. It had been six months since he had battled the incarnation of Mars on an island in the Dead Sea. Six long and lonely months since he had lost his second love, Sulia. Ever since his titanic battle with the God of War, the Lone Wolf had been distancing himself from everyone, including his friend Joe Higashi, and his only relatives, Andy and his new wife Mai. Though he was happy for his sibling and his marriage to the bouncy ninja girl, Terry found himself unable to find happiness for himself. He had returned to America to continue with his training, while his brother and his new bride had taken over running the Yamato dojo in Japan. Joe had gone back to the kickboxing circuit. Since that Laocorn incident, Terry had thrown himself into his martial arts training, finding solace in his loneliness and sadness as he steadily improved his fighting skills. The Art was all that he had to live for now. It was the only thing he had left. After losing Sulia, Terry believed that he was cursed to be alone and he would not risk falling in love again. Any girl who made the mistake of getting close to him was doomed: that much he knew for sure. As the sun began to set toward the horizon, Terry thought back to the time after he had destroyed the God of War. His ki abilities and martial arts skills had grown substantially since that time. His strength and speed were now comparable to Wolfgang Krauser and Laocorn's henchman Janim. He was pretty sure he could achieve the level he had while battling the God of War. His ki abilities had also increased as he had learned to tap into the power of the Earth even more. He had learned a few new maneuvers and was always on the lookout for new challenges. This was his life now, and he welcomed any kind of obstacles to overcome. Anything to help him forget his pain and sorrow over his two lost loves Lily and Sulia. It was then that he caught sight of a strange light being emitted in the road fifty meters ahead of him. The sudden flash appeared out of nowhere and Terry put the brakes on his cycle, coming to a complete stop ten meters from the light. "What the hell?!" The light then faded away and Terry found himself staring up at a monstrosity that reminded him of something out of a science-fiction horror movie. The AR-4000 scanned its environment after reappearing in real space, but the trip through the space-time continuum had fried its logic circuits and it was now perceiving any living being as a threat to its survival. Once it honed in on Terry Bogard, it immediately brought up an arm and pointed at him. The mini-gatling gun opened fire. Terry didn't know what was going on, but now was not the time to wonder about it. As soon as he saw the gun pop out of its housing, his reflexes took over and he immediately dove to the side. The bullets shot into his motorcycle and ignited the gas tank. Terry's transportation was reduced into a small fireball ad the Lone Wolf scrambled to avoid the falling pieces of debris. "My bike!" Terry gasped as he got to his feet and faced off against his attacker. It had taken him three months to have that cycle repaired after it had been destroyed in Europe and now it was junk again. That made him mad. The AR-4000 then began firing at Terry, but the martial artist and bare-knuckle street fighter was fast on his feet and dodged the first volley. Seeing his chance as the Boomer paused to get a second bead on him, the Lone Wolf slammed his fist into the ground. "POWER WAVE!" Terry's normal ki blast had gotten far more powerful and faster since his battle with Laocorn's minions. It now had the capacity to demolish a transit bus! The ki wave tore a wide trench in the asphalt and caused a minor tremor as it slammed into the Boomer and drove it back. When it landed on its back, there was a massive explosion as the ki blast penetrated its armor plating. Terry stepped back into a ready stance and waited. When the smoke cleared, Terry was surprised to see the Boomer was still functional after being hit by his ki blast. The machine had a gaping hole in its chest and was missing its left arm and head as it unsteadily got back to its feet. However, the damage it had sustained was too much for it was it fell forward and exploded, releasing the quantum energies that it had built up before its unintentional trip through dimensions. Unfortunately, Terry was caught in the blast. Terry didn't even have time to scream as he was engulfed in the conflagration and vanished from this plane of existence. Some undetermined time later… Terry awoke with a splitting headache as his eyes opened. He immediately sat up and winced as his head pounded with an intense throbbing. He shook his head to clear it and found himself in unfamiliar territory. The remains of his motorcycle were nearby and he noted that his carry bag had been thrown clear during the explosion and had landed a few meters to his right. He went over to inspect it and saw that the heavy canvas bag was relatively unscathed and must have fallen out when the sidecar was blown free. He saw a heap of twisted scrap metal and cables to his left and from its general shape, assumed it was the remains of whatever had attacked him. Seeing that there was nothing else for him to do, he decided that first thing on the agenda was to find out where he was. With no motorcycle, Terry was forced to walk. Picking up his travel bag, he began walking in the direction he had been heading before this entire incident had happened, west. Ten minutes later, Terry came across a road sign which he hoped would tell him where he was. He got the biggest shock of his life when he read the sign. "MegaTokyo City Limits?" To be continued…? Author's notes Yeah, I guess you can call me crazy for thinking something of something like this, but I couldn't help it. With all the Ranma fics that I have written so far, I wanted to try my hand at something different. What do you think? Should I continue it? I've had some ideas of hooking Terry up with one of the Knight Sabers and battling Genom. With Terry's abilities, I can imagine that Genom would think that he's some kind of Boomer. I was inspired with writing this after watching the Bubble Gum Crisis OAV and the Just Won't Die series by Jeffery Oneshot Wong.
